I started off as a journalism major in college. By the time I finished I had switched my major from journalism to film production. I often question why I made that decision, but at the time it seemed to make sense. What exacty did I do with that film degree, you may ask? Well, I worked as a special events intern for Zagat, then for the Association of American Medical Colleges, next, as an Event Planner for a non-profit organization, followed by a long stretch as a substitute teacher, continuing as an Outreach Coordinator for a non-profit. . .oh, and then I decided I wanted a business degree so I got my M.B.A, followed by starting my own event planning company, and now I work in education. Did I mention I haven't even reached 30 yet? Yeah, my professional life has been a journy of finding the right fit, but I'm happy with the choices I've made, the companies I've worked for and Client's I've helped. I still adore planning events, working in community relations, the education field. . .and yes,
writing. I still love writing. But somehow over the years, in between jobs and writing for a grade opposed to writing for leisure, I forgot how much fun words can be. So, I decided to make 2012 the year that I fall in love again. . .with writing that is.
So, this blog will be an introduction to me, the person, the woman, the friend, sister, aunt, niece, girlfriend, daughter, etc. To my ups and downs, the things I love, my faith, my never ending weight battle, hair care, my travels and my life in general. You can choose to read, click to little x at the top right of the screen, either way, I'm still going to write. This is my challenge, 365 days of writing (give or take the first 4 days of the year), reflecting and falling in love again.
Peace + Blessings,
I had no idea that you loved to write! I think your blog is a fabulous idea... you crack me up all the time with your words, so why not share your talents with others? Also, this is a great way to check in with yourself and note all the progress/regress you make throughout the year. It just may give you a new perspective on your life and that is a wonderful blessing.
ReplyDeleteCheers to you my fabulous friend, and the New Year!
